  Geology

The core of the Geology and Mineral Resource Department is geological

interpretation and geostatical estimation modelling, which are

compliant with the various global Mineral Resource Reporting codes. The

department has extensive skills in both the geostatical and geological

modelling disciplines, across a number of styles of ore bodies and

across numerous commodities and materials.

The skills base facilitates the analysis of exploration estimation, including

acquisition and validation, sedimentological analysis, Mineral Resource

auditing, Competent Person sign-off and 3D ore body modelling and

analysis. The Department specializes in creating customized software

solutions pertaining to the core aspects of the Mineral Resource

discipline.

Charles Muller : Director, Head of Geology (PR 400201/04)

With his wealth of knowledge in the field of geology and mineral resource evaluation, Charles fulfils Minxcon’s criterion to
combine skills with exceptional ability and extensive experience. Charles is proficient in data processing, ore-body
modelling and mineral resource evaluation using Datamine™ and other computer packages specifically developed for the
minerals industry. During his 25 years in the mining industry, he has gained extensive experience in the fields of
sedimentology, gold exploration and target generation of gold, platinum, diamonds, coal and base metal projects. His skills
in software development, data system customisation and database integration are widely recognised in the mining
industry. Charles has been involved with the modelling and geostatistical evaluation of various ore bodies across the globe.
He has presented papers on mineral resource evaluation at international venues and has a number of publications to his
credit.

Heather King: Mineral Resource Manager (PR 400116/01)

Heather joined the gold mining industry after having completed her Master’s Degree thesis on the chromitite
seams of the Western Limb of the Bushveld Igneous Complex. Initially, she worked as a mine geologist,
whereafter she worked as a mineral resource geologist on a number of operations on the Witwatersrand
Goldfields. During her 14 years in the mining industry, Heather has gained extensive experience in evaluating
Witwatersrand gold ore bodies as well as in target generation.
A senior member of the Minxcon team, Heather is primarily involved in the modelling and geostatistical

evaluation of various ore bodies, thereby gaining experience in PGE, chromite, uranium and greenstone

hosted gold mineralisation styles. Heather is efficient in data processing, ore-body modelling and mineral

resource evaluation using Datamine™.

Eric Ngobeni
Eric has obtained an Honours Degree in Geology and prior to joining Minxcon, gained experience as
production geologist and exploration geologist at Xtstrata Alloys’ platinum mines. As production geologist he
was responsible for underground geological mapping, plotting, interpretation and representation of geological
features on stope sheets and G-sheets. His role at Minxcon includes geological interpretation and modelling,

geological research, data validation and the manipulation of data.

Garth Marshall

Garth obtained his Honours Degree in Geology in 2009. He has experience in chrome mining/geology
relating to the Western Bushveld, as well as gold and uranium in the Klerksdorp Gold Fields, both in
opencast and underground (conventional and trackless/hybrid) mining.  Garth’s main expertise lies in
the field of geological modelling, database management, as well as exploration management and planning.
He is currently studying towards a Masters’ Degree relating to Mineral Resource Management. Garth’s role
at Minxcon includes amongst other geological interpretation and modelling, geological research, data

validation and geostatical estimation.

Segopotso Motlapele

Sego obtained het  BSc Honours degree in Geology in 2007 and subsequently her MSc in Mineral
Resource Evaluation in 2010. She has worked as Mine geologist and senior geologist at Harmony Gold
Mine for seven years prior to joining Minxcon. As geologist she has gained valuable experience in QAQC,
data validation, due diligence  and audits. Her experience furthermore include 3D ore body modeling,
gesostatical evaluation and structural and sedimentary geology, including mapping and logging. She is
currently acquainting herself with wireframe modeling through datamine. Her duties at Minxcon  include

geological interpretation and modelling, geological research, data validation and the manipulation of data.

Goodwill Hlatshwayo

Goodwill holds a BSc Honours degree in Geology from the University of Pretoria, and BSc: Geology and Advance
Earth  Science degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. Goodwill has seven year experience in the
mining industry. His mining career started in 2005 at Goldfields as a Geologist, was hen appointed  Chief
Geologist of Burnstone Mine for Great Basin Gold in June 2010 and subsequently promoted to Ore Reserve
Manager in June 2011. His other experience include  the position of project geologist at PPC Cement and he

was involved at Nkomati Mine Joint Venture between African Rainbow Minerals and Norilsk Nickel Africa, as the

  superintendent geologist.

He was also the founding director and operations Manager for Cantonia Drilling Pty Ltd, which secured

underground diamond drilling contracts in several mines in the Eastern Bushveld Complex.

Antonio Umpire: Mineral Resource Manager International (CIP 91856)

Antonio has acquired an in-depth knowledge of the fields of geology and mineral resource estimation, working
on underground and open-pit mines for international operations. He is not only highly skilled in SQL database
engines such as Datashed, Acquire and Fusion, but also in ore-body modelling and mineral resource
evaluation using Datamine™, Gemcom, MineSight®, Voxler, Isatis and other computer packages
specifically developed for the minerals industry. During his 12 years in the mining industry, Antonio has gained
extensive experience in the fields of sedimentology, volcanology, geochemistry and exploration, as well as in
the target generation of gold, uranium, silver, copper, lead, zinc, Iron, Sulfur and base metal projects. He is a
specialist in integrating exploration or mine data systems and databases using GIS (ArcView). Antonio has

been  involved with the modelling and geo-statistical evaluation of various intrusive, gold-disseminated,

volcanologist quartz veins and sedimentary mineral bodies across the globe. He has presented papers on
geochemistry and evaluation at international venues.
