Exploration B.Sc Geology (Hons)

Sherlock has successfully completed his BSc Geology Honours from the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in 2009.

He is currently employed as an exploration geologist at Minxcon Exploration. His experience includes extensive field exploration geology in a wide range of minerals and geological settings, GIS application in geology, and 3D geological modelling. Sherlock has gained excellent proficiency in geological field work, as well as the associated and relevant office work. He has worked on drilling projects where he monitored and supervised diamond drilling campaigns.

Uwe has gained over 28 years’ experience in the mining and exploration industry working for various mining companies in South Africa. During this time he was involved in research in Antarctica, held various geological positions, as well as worked as an Ore Resource Manager for eight years where he was involved in the production and exploration of the shafts, strategic planning, ore resources and reserves, as well as the daily management of the shafts. He has been heading up the exploration division of Minxcon Exploration (formerly Agere Project Management) since 2007 where he has been involved in most aspects of the exploration, predominantly in Africa, in a wide range of commodities including gold, platinum, copper, coal, manganese and iron ore.

Duran has four years of experience in the mineral exploration and mining consulting industry. He obtained his undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology from University of the Western Cape in 2019. He also completed a course in Strata Control Metalliferous Theory, certified by the Minerals Council of South Africa in 2024. He joined the team at Minxcon in September 2025 as a Geologist Mining Geotechnical. His duties at Minxcon include database management, mineral resource modelling and estimation. Duran has international and local experience in mining geotechnical engineering and field-based geological investigations. Specialist skills include field and site geotechnical data acquisition, rock mass quality characterisation, laboratory rock testing, kinematic, and slope stability analysis. Proficient in using industry-standard software.

B.Sc Environmental Geology (Hons)

Jacques joined Minxcon as a Geotechnical Geologist in January 2026. He obtained his undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geography from the North West University in 2021. Subsequently, in 2022 he completed his Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Environmental Geology. Jacques has over three years of experience in geotechnical investigations, exploration drilling projects and technical report preparation. He has an excellent track record of strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering reliable subsurface data for engineering and exploration purposes. Jacques is skilled in the use of Datamine StudioRM™ software for 3D digital modelling and Estimation of Mineral Resources. His commodity knowledge encompasses gold, coal, copper, platinum-group elements (PGEs) and base-metal deposits.
